In 2002, JAC Motors signed a technology cooperation agreement with Hyundai Motors of South Korea for the production of heavy-duty trucks. After more than a year of preparation, the first Gelfa heavy-duty truck successfully rolled off the production line on October 28, 2003. On April 28, 2005, JAC Motors, having absorbed advanced technologies from DaimlerChrysler and Hyundai heavy-duty trucks and adapted them to Chinese road conditions and usage scenarios, launched the newly designed and produced "Gelfa Heavy-Duty Truck." This new platform product is suitable for China's national conditions, independently developed, targeted at both domestic and international markets, aligned with international advanced technology levels, possesses its own brand and intellectual property rights, and is the most advanced new generation of heavy-duty trucks in China.
In 2008, based on a comprehensive upgrade in technology and a more thorough understanding of the heavy-duty truck market, JAC Motors launched the second-generation "Gelfa Heavy-Duty Truck." The second-generation heavy-duty truck features a robust and aesthetically pleasing appearance and greater adaptability.
JAC Heavy Truck continues to adhere to the concept of "integrating global resources to build world-class vehicles," drawing on the design and technical experience of many advanced heavy trucks worldwide. It has established strategic partnerships with international companies such as Bosch (Germany), Lear Corporation (USA), and AT&T, and has long-term engagements with experts from Japan and South Korea. The company has engaged in comprehensive cooperation from R&D and quality to TPS (Total Productive Maintenance) advancement, truly integrating global resources to create "splendid world-class vehicles."
