1. Enclose the timing chain chamber to prevent oil leakage and block dust & sediment from entering the timing system.
2. Built-in integrated oil pump delivers pressurized lubricating oil to crankshaft, camshaft and hydraulic tappets.
3. House the front crankshaft oil seal to stop oil seepage at the front end of crankshaft.
4. Reserve mounting ports for sensors, water pipes and brackets to integrate external engine accessories.
Failure Symptoms
- Oil leakage at engine front end caused by deformed housing or aged gasket
- Low engine oil pressure and abnormal mechanical noise due to worn internal oil pump cavity
- Oil leaking out from crankshaft front oil seal bore
- Cracked housing leads to loud timing chain noise and massive oil loss, which may cause cylinder scoring in severe cases
